I’ve always believed that what we put into our bodies has a massive impact on how we feel, and now I’m putting that belief to the test with extra virgin olive oil. Specifically, I’m using this one, taking a tablespoon daily and using it for cooking and drizzling over gluten-free bread.
Why? Because high-quality extra virgin olive oil is packed with polyphenols and healthy fats that have been shown to reduce inflammation—something that’s particularly relevant for anyone dealing with arthritis or autoimmune conditions like psoriatic arthritis and enthesitis (which I have). Some research suggests that it can help with joint pain, stiffness, and overall inflammation, similar to the benefits of a Mediterranean diet. But research is one thing—real-world experience is another.
So, this is my experiment. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be paying close attention to how my joints feel, whether my pain levels change, and if I notice any other unexpected benefits. I’ll be documenting my progress and sharing updates so others can see if it’s worth adding to their own routine.
If you’ve tried this approach yourself, I’d love to hear about your experience. Let’s see what happens.
